25 things about me painting:
This painting is inspired by my love for the band Pink Floyd, as well as other things I enjoy beyond Pink Floyd. If I had to pick a title for my painting, I would probably choose The Wall of 25 Things about Me. The most obvious thing in my work is definitely the wall itself; I literally made it pop out. Another thing that pops out is the bright colors; these bright colors don't just represent the album's color or the color of some boat; they represent how I stay happy and bright even in dark times. (hence the black background) My painting is composed of a variety of media; for the walls, I used a mixture of tissue, glue, and water. The background is made of black acrylic, and the details on the wall are created using watercolor. The rest of the paintings are acrylic, and I used cut monster tabs for this part. When I paint, I usually have a plan or a sketch in mind. Because of this, I really try to make my paintings look perfect, and the lines look straight. The band Pink Floyd and their art inspired me the most; it became a theme for my painting. I wanted to show how the bright colors stand out over the black, which to me means how I stood out even in dark times. While I was painting, I learned that it's okay to make mistakes, it's okay to have some lines that aren't perfect. My final piece isn't at all what I thought it would be. The main area is different than the sketch I drew, I decided to make it more about what I wanna be when I grow up and less about Pink Floyd. This piece will inspire me to be way more creative in other paintings.
